CFHLA Cares Awards Shcolarships & Grants

May 4, 2015

The 2015 Bacchus Bash is no more than a few weeks removed and the proceeds of that event are already in the hands of the deserving recipients.

Since 1987, “Orlando’s Biggest Street Party” has been dedicated to secure funds for Hospitality Educational purposes. Over the years, Bacchus Bash has donated nearly $1,000,000 to Central Florida hospitality Students and Hospitality Schools in Central Florida.

Bacchus Bash is a Charitable event benefiting Central Florida Hospitality Education produced by the Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association Foundation, Inc.

On Thursday April 30th, at the Buena Vista Palace on Lake Buena Vista, CFHLA Cares awarded approximately $375,000 in scholarships and grants. Marking the largest donation of the events history.

Among the awarded scholarships was the first ever full ride scholarship of $40,000 from the Don & Lorraine Freeberg Foundation / CFHLA Scholarship, which was awarded to Daniella Sauri, who will attend the Rosen College of Hospitality.

The event also saw the awarding of the largest gift in CFHLA history with $250,000 being presented to the Dr. Phillips for the Performing Arts, for the support and naming opportunity of the Barnie's Coffee Bar.

Congratulations to all of the worthy recipients on their scholarships and grants! We are very proud to be a part of this association whose purpose is to give back to the community and help future generations carry on the traditions that are vital to our industry's needs.

We can only hope that the 2016 event can out do this year's historic goals.
